A themed exhibition to coincide with the 150th anniversary of Darwin's publication of 'The Origin of Species'

Franziska Schenk is Artist in Residence at The University of Birmingham School of Biosciences and a Lecturer in Fine Art at Birmingham Institute of Art and Design. With iridescence as the theme, and butterfly eyespots as exemplar, she explores novel bio-inspired optical effects of colour change and associated artistic methods. The series of iridescent paintings on show, specially developed for the Year of Darwin, mimics Nature's evolutionary processes

An associated special event will be held on 24 November.
Visit the project website for more information.
