Spring 2010

Welcome

Welcome to Insight, the e-newsletter for students who are thinking about joining us at Birmingham City University. Insight will give you a taste of life at the University - you can read about the latest news and events, meet some of our students, and find out why our graduates are among the most employable around.

Fit for purpose

January 2010 saw the grand opening of our new gym and sports facilities at our main City North Campus. The centre is equipped with a state-of-the-art fitness suite, dance studios and sports hall.

Murder investigation seminars

As part of our ongoing series of seminars focusing on high-profile murder investigations, students from our new Criminal Investigation degree and Criminology courses recently joined senior police officers to hear from one of the senior investigating officers for the Ipswich serial murders.

Real work experience

When we needed to find designers for our new University prospectuses where should we look? Our own students, of course.
"The prospectus work was a great project to start our careers; working with the University that we'd just finished studying at. ..." Tommy Morrison BA (Honours), Visual Communication, 2009
